Love Me Love Your Mate

Posted on October 8th, 2017

As part of Mental Health Week 2017 (October 9 – 14, 2017) we are launching a new campaign – ‘Love Me Love Your Mate’. This campaign is aimed at highlighting the importance of mateship. The fundamental thing that mateship gives us is support via a network of people who care about us.

In times of need, this support network is essential in helping us get through. We are encouraging people to think about who their network of support is before they get to a place of needing it.

1 in 5 people in Australia suffer from mental illness and sadly suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44.

We hope that by building a movement which encourages people to both think about their network as well as share it with others, the conversation about mental illness is opened. Opening conversations helps to raise awareness and break down the stigma – which can help to save lives.

We’re encouraging all our supporters to get involved in this one…

1 in 5 people in Australia suffer from mental illness and sadly suicide remains the leading cause of death for Australians aged between 15 and 44. We all have bad periods in our lives. It’s important to understand that during these tough times relying on key people in our lives is essential to helping us through. In the moment, it can hard to think of who to turn to. As part of #mentalhealthweek and #lovemeloveyourmate my five people are; @xxx @xxx – Now I’m challenging you to share on your page and tag your five people @lovemeloveyou
